This summer, the Tutoring Center initiated a pilot program for Athens City School District.  Small groups of second, third and fourth graders received two weeks of intensive reading instruction.  Learners made great strides in their reading and decoding skills. 

Twenty-four students and nine tutors participate in the program which took place at the Plains Elementary School from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.    The Tutoring Center looks forward to future years of the Grow Through Summer Program and continuing to work with Athens City Schools.
